Lecture Series

Building enduring relationships from all walks of life through meaningful engagement.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims participate in fast-breaking dinners each evening. As the Islamic calendar is based on the lunar cycle, the start of Ramadan shifts approximately 11 days earlier each year. In 2023, it falls during the autumn season in Australia but will gradually move into the summer over the years.
MoreWe invite a diverse group of people, including a specific religious congregation (church, synagogue, temple, etc.), community group (older people’s club, women’s group, etc.), or group of local stakeholders (local police officers, staff of local health center, etc.).
Conferences LecturesAt our Intercultural Programs, we celebrate diversity and aim to bridge cultural gaps by bringing people from different backgrounds together. We offer a range of events and activities that showcase the richness of different cultures, traditions, and beliefs, and provide an opportunity for cultural exchange, learning, and appreciation. Our programs include Book Launch events, where we celebrate new books and connect authors with readers and book lovers from different communities; Eid Celebrations, where we gather to mark the end of Ramadan and share traditional food and customs; and Interfaith Dialogues, where we invite faith leaders and thinkers to engage in a safe and open dialogue about faith, social justice, and reconciliation. Our Intercultural Programs provide a space for connection, understanding, and celebration of the diversity that makes our communities so rich and vibrant.
EID Celebratıon book launchIt is designed to help you to bring people together through the tradition of Noah’s Pudding. Sharing food is a wonderful way to promote interaction and friendship between people regardless of faith or culture.
more Bluestar Institute encompasses the supremely important principles of the values of a common humanity, and the primacy of compassion and love for that humanity. The Divine Teachings of ‘love of neighbour’ and ‘love of stranger’ are the foundations of civilization and its abiding glory! “ By three principles does the world endure: by Truth; by Justice and by Peace!”
Blue Star contributes enormously to inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue in the ACT. Whether is in hosting Iftar dinners, engaging erudite and challenging speaking for lunch-time lectures, or by joining in conferences and events that explore similarities and dissimilarities between different faiths, they foster cordial and respectful interaction. For example Blue Star and St Thomas More’s Campbell held a day in which elements of the Catholic and Islamic rituals were explained and explored. At the same time a small cooking class led by Handan Erdogan flourished, creating cultural bonds. Great good will was born of all these ventures and we have confidence that similar activities will continue to promote the Hizmet ethos.
